Week 9 EOC: "For thoughs who think Young"

Week 9 Eoc: Thoughts who think young!

The obsession of Youth in advertising started back in the 1960’s with the Pepsi commercial, “For those who think Young.” This commercial was targeted toward young , youthful teenagers and adults. If you drank Pepsi you were young and hip! The commercial consisted of a melody and images of young people drinking Pepsi. The Melody was singing over and over “for those who think Young.” We ask are self why is everyone so obsessed with being young? Why can’t we age gracefully? The media has trained us to always wanting to be young. The reason why is that advertisers target, their new product towards the younger audience; the younger audience is the trend setters, the make or breakers when it comes to a new product. The trend is constantly changing and the younger generation is always trying to be one step ahead.

It’s a good in advertisement because these companies are thinking for the long haul. They are going to catch their customer early and for life. By targeting the younger generations, is genius, because we have a life time to spend. Generally older consumers have all ready become brand loyal to other products. “It’s hard to teach old dog new tricks.”

BOC Frank O'Hara

Frank O' Hara was born March 27, 1926. O'Hara's poetry is autobiographical. His first thing he wrote was "A Collection Of Poems" by Frank O'Hara. Frank O'Hara wasn't like any poet in that time he tended to write poems more for a record of his life. While living his life he wrote a mock manifesto about himself. Most of the time O'Hara poetry did not make any scence to anyone but himself. He wrote a itresting poem called Mayakovsky. In this verse I think he's worried about acceptance of a person, he does no mention. Or he even feels like someone else; he does not recognize himself. No one knows really what the true meaning behind this verse.

"It may be the coldest day of
the year, what does he think of
that? I mean, what do I? And if I do,
perhaps I am myself again."

"There campaigns where the approach is more thematic, were the graphic design looks and feels must be paramount."(page 192) They have the tricky Rabbit, the hopping cool frog, Cavemen characters, and many more. The only cereals that target women of ages 21 to 35 is the healthy and plain cereal, that make you loose your taste buds just to eat it. Driven by the obsession of loosing weight. " If you examine the premise of some extremely creative films and books, you will notice the "what if.." What if we took a child symbol and turn it into the dream men for young women? Recipe is to take Captain Crunch and add a little studness from Fabio to the brand. Little do we know Captain Hunk,"Captain Crunch" is a healthy alternative to eating healthy cereal, but with taste.

The Pitch Week 7EOC

Captain Hunk

Cereal seems to always have the save age group targeted, Kids. They have the tricky Rabbit, the hopping cool frog, Cavemen characters, and many more. The only cereals that target women of ages 21 to 35 is the healthy, plain cereal that you need to loose you taste buds just to enjoy. What if we took a child symbol and turn it into the dream men for all middle age women? Recipe is to take Captain Crunch and add a little studness from Fabio.

"The key to coming up with a great ad is finding that one clear, concise, engaging idea."(Page103)
The Commercial will start with a woman, named Jane, looking for something to eat. She pours a bowl of Captain Crunch for her kid, and then pours a bowl for herself. Jane then sits down and takes a bit of the delicious cereal. As she takes the bit we zoom into her eye, bringing us to a wonderful daydream. Jane is now on a ship in the middle of the ocean. Wearing a white flowing dress she turns around to see Captain Hunk. Captain Hunk stands tall, with glistening muscles covering his body, and has captain crunches head, hat and all, but has long shimmering hair flowing out from his captain’s hat. The only other clothing he is wearing is his tight pirate, ripped up, pants. Jane rubs her hands across his washboard abs, as he grabs her and pulls her close. She then hears her sons voice yell “Mommy” and snaps out of her great daydream to be sitting back in her kitchen. Jane takes another bit of the Crunch with a big smile on her face.

The point of this is to show that Captain Crunch isn’t just for children. It can be fun for even the mothers who have the kids, or even just woman in general who want a great tasting cereal to eat.
